-
What are the turnaround times for flooring and carpet fitting? You can expect to have your carpet or flooring fitted within 4-6 weeks, but this may increase during busy periods. If you have a preferred fitting date in mind, let us know, and we'll do our best to work around you. The more notice you can give us, the more flexible we can be with dates.
-
Can I steam clean my hard floor?Unless the product is advertised stating it is safe for steam cleaning, we recommend using less aggressive cleaning methods. Steam cleaners run at a high temperature that can be damaging to hard flooring. With some manufacturers, steam cleaning can also invalidate the product warranty.
-
Should I replace my existing underlay? We always recommend replacing your underlay. With time, underlay will compress and hold dust and dirt. This will impact the overall performance and longevity of your new floor covering. When we come to measure your space, we can take a look at your existing underlay and let you know if you’ll need to replace it. If you've replaced your carpet and underlay recently (within the last 18 months), it may still be okay to use.
-
Do you offer an uplift and removal service for old carpets and flooring? We do! If you need us to take up your existing flooring and handle its disposal, let us know when you place your order. This would come at an additional charge, and the cost depends on how much needs uplifting. If you do have a vehicle large enough to transport your old flooring, it is worth knowing that domestic customers can dispose of carpets at their local refuse centre, free of charge.
-
What type of carpet is best with pets? For homes with pets, we recommend opting for a polypropylene carpet with a short twist pile. Doing so will ensure your carpet is stain-resistant and easy to clean, and because of its short pile, any shed fur will sit on top of the carpet for you to easily vacuum away. Whilst some companies will recommend a short loop pile, there is still a chance your pet's claws will get caught — risking pain to them and damage to your new carpet.
